Home Building Tips: Remodeling "Do's"
The first step in a successful renovation is to plan ahead. Start by hiring a qualified designer. It's a good idea to see some of their completed designs, and to ask for a list of references. You'll also want to confirm their structural knowledge, as well as their experience in working with renovation and addition projects. Remember, there are distinct factors to consider in a renovation design, so qualifications and experience are paramount in making your decision. Area professional organizations, like the local Home Builders Association, which may even have a Remodelors Council, may be able to offer suggestions on some qualified professionals.
You will also want to establish a reasonable budget and a timeline. When contacting professionals regarding your endeavor, these are vital to their assessment of the project. Of course, it is wise to begin researching your design/ build team well in advance of the project, so that you do not have to sacrifice quality to meet unrealistic timelines.

New Team Members
After a painstaking interview and selection process, we have hired a new Production Manager who will join our team later this month. With nearly ten years of experience in AutoCad, Daniel Medina will work closely with the Production Department in bringing Jennifer's unique designs to life for our clients.
Also, Trina Cline has joined our team as our Administrative Assistant. In addition to scheduling and communicating with clients, Trina will support our entire staff in meeting the needs of our growing firm.

 In addition to working closely to meet the needs of individual homeowners, we often assist quality builders in creating unique designs to market to their potential buyers. Such is the case with this custom design currently in development for Kearey Constrcution Company.
With an eye for quality and distinction, the Statesville based firm has worked closely with Jennifer in developing this design. "We have enough experience building homes to know what our buyers are looking for," says Bradley Meade of Kearey Construction Company. "But it's nice to have a creative professional to help make our homes really stand out. We've been able to add details that make the difference to families in the market for a new home."

Design Competition Announced
 After much anticipation, the Lake Norman Home Builders Association (LNHBA) has announced the first ever "Best of the Lake" Competition. The design competition will give area professionals the opportunity to showcase their best work, and consumers an insider's perspective on who's who in home building and design.
The competition will take place in October, with entries accepted from members of the LNHBA in four categories: Custom New Homes, Builder Spec homes, Renovations/Additions and Curb Appeal. Winners will be announced at the November meeting, so stay tuned for details on the who was selected as the "Best of the Lake".
