Home Building Tips: Developing a Plan for Your Home Systems
In the planning phase of your home, taking into consideration all of the systems in your home will allow for a more seamless installation process. This forethought and planning will lend a comprehensive approach to the construction of your home through coordinating both the necessary and desired systems. When an integrated system design is not considered from the very beginning, a great deal of component and systems redundancy occurs. If not properly designed, the flow of one system may impede or affect the installation of other systems. This is due to a variety of factors including placement of wiring, outlets, control boxes, etc.- causing unexpected change orders, delays and additional costs.
Planning will also allow you to effectively accomodate the expansion of your home because all systems were considered from the beginning. To better plan for the level of sophistication and coordination of the systems you should have within your home, you need to identify what you desire now and potentially in the future.

Pippin's Projects: New England Style on Lake Norman
One of our award- winning renovations and recently featured on HGTV, this older existing lake home was purchased as an investment initially. Due to it's close proximity to the lake, providing excellent water views, the home had become 'grandfathered' into its location, which created the need to redesign it rather than remove it and build a new home further removed from the lake. The main objective of this project was to give the home some badly needed curb appeal, as well as, up-date the floor plan with larger, more functional living spaces and additional bedrooms.

From Jenny's Design Board
After designing homes for two owners of a reputable modular home company, we were contacted to help with another endeavor. But their need was not for another new home design, but some much needed design assistance for company's home designs. Desiring to stand out in the crowd, R-Anell has since hired Jennifer for design consulting on a number of their models. Most impressive is The Asheville (shown here) which has quickly become their biggest seller.
In retrospect, company executive Ron Krueger says that "it's hard to imagine why we didn't come to Jenny before. She has such a knowledge of what people want and what will work that she has really made our job easier."

By participating with the competition, Jenny had the opportunity to view trends in Charlotte area renovations, as well as meet other distinguished judges. Winners were announced last week at the Awards Banquet and Monthly Association Dinner Meeting.
