What is the Mind Body Soul Connection?

Imagine that you are a computer…
Your Body is the physical computer; the thing you interact with, type on, and look at.
Your Mind is the hard drive, the device that stores and retrieves data.
Your Soul is the Wi-Fi!  Your connection to all that is! 
 
All three aspects of life (mind, body, and soul) must be unified in order to live a fully expressed life, a YOU-Inspired Life!
 
Once you’ve achieved sustained support for your mind and body, (see my last 2 blog posts) your soul is finally free to experience self-actualization.  

What is Self-Actualization?  

Considered the highest level of psychological development: self-actualization is the fulfillment of one’s talents, potentiality, and the complete expression of your soul!

Why Do You Care?

When you reach self-actualization, you live an authentic life that makes you feel fully alive.  Your life is marked by ease and joy.  Your relationships become more meaningful and loving.  You develop a deep appreciation for life itself.  And the inevitable struggles of life feel far more manageable.

Good Hygiene for Your Soul

There are many ways to care for and express your soul.  
 

• Pursue your Passion: Follow your heart!  It will always lead you directly to your soul!  You were born for a reason, have you discovered what that reason is yet?

 

• Own your Story: Taking responsibility for the way you show up in life gives you access to the things you were shamed into believing about yourself.  Recognize your power to change negative thought patterns and shift your life into alignment with your soul.

 

• Meditate:  Do not try to silence your mind.  That is impossible!  Aim for simply calming it down.  Ask your powerful and overactive mind to CHILL!  You have much greater access to your soul’s desires when you give it the platform to speak.  

 

• Practice Gratitude:  When you see life through the lens of gratitude you shift the reactivity of your conscious mind.  And when you’re not constantly reacting to life, you’re able to stay more connected to your soul.

 

• Have a Sense of Humor:  Laughter is the best medicine!  What you find humorous is unique to you.  Let laughter be a barometer for the expression of your soul.

 

• Design a Soul Home:  Consider all the questions above and find the full depth of YOU!  Design these soul expressions right into your home to feel supported every day by the place you spend most of your time.

How Does Home Support Your Soul?

Your home plays a tremendous roll in the expression of your soul.  When your home is designed to be an extension of you, you feel deeply connected to the person you’ve created yourself to be. 
 
You move through your home effortlessly as though you are in a synchronized dance with the structure around you.  
 
The positive energy in your home encourages the forward momentum in your pursuit of life fulfillment.

3 Questions to Ask Yourself When Designing for Your Soul:

1. What do I REALLY want here?
2. How do I want to FEEL in this space?
3. What feels GOOD to me even though I may not entirely understand why?

 
PRO TIP:
Creating a scrapbook, an Ideabook in Houzz, or Pinterest page is a wonderful way to begin visualizing spaces your soul feels drawn to.
 
When considering photos for your scrapbook, Ideabook, or Pinterest page ONLY consider the photos that truly speak to you!  
 
Then do a little visualization exercise:

1. Look at the photo you feel drawn to. 
2. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in that space.  
3. Ask yourself:

                  How do I FEEL in this space? 
                  How do I WANT to feel? 
                    Does this space REALLY give me the feeling I'm looking for? 
 
Then open your eyes and look at the photo again.  Are there only certain aspects of the photo that you like?  If so, which ones?  Write this down!!!  
 
This is essential information we need to know to be able to hone in on exactly what works for you and what doesn’t.  We take a great deal of time listening to you.  We WANT to know all the little details.  We encourage you to spend the time listening to your soul first.
