Since birth we have taken inspiration from many different influencers in our lives: teachers, thought leaders, family members, coworkers, gurus and coaches of all kinds. We create our lives to be the culmination of all these different influences, hoping to build a meaningful and joyous existence, but how often do we pause and contemplate the origin of our deepest desires, the ones that come from within? What is it that YOU want most?
In this post, I’ll define You-Inspired Living and highlight reasons why it’s essential that we not only find authentic inspiration, but we intentionally LIVE IT and bring it into our homes using Dr. Wayne Dyer’s 6 Key Principles featured in our article entitled Blueprint for Living a You-Inspired Life. I finish the post with 6 Simple Steps You Can Take NOW to Begin Living a You-Inspired Life.
Why You-Inspired Living? This sounds simple, yet it isn’t. If it were, everybody would be living joyously fulfilled lives in the homes of their dreams. And motivational speakers would be out of a job and you wouldn’t be reading this blog.
Hi! I see you! I once was you and you are my inspiration for writing this blog!
You-Inspired Living is finding what makes your heart sing, what lights you up and makes you feel truly alive and then taking ACTION to incorporate your heart's song into your daily life. In context to home, You-Inspired Living takes into consideration the complexity of what makes you unique and how your uniqueness translates to what HOME means for you.
Homes are places to be respected for their power to rejuvenate, refresh and restore our energy. We have a responsibility to ourselves and our families to provide healing spaces for our bodies, mind, and spirit. To bring balance, peace, and harmony to our lives we must consider the importance of home. Consider these questions:
Are you living in your house for the NEXT person? If you answered “Yes” or “Maybe” to any of the above questions, then that is exactly what you are doing ... living in your house for its next owner. This is all too common and I see it all the time. This is NOT You-Inspired Living. This is living for someone else and often is a result of feeling pressure by commercial advice to create your living space to be marketable in the future.
You-Inspired Living is taking ownership of your deepest desires, committing to listen to your heart when it speaks up, and allowing yourself to live in a home that is an exact representation of what home looks and feels like for YOU!
My guess is that you don’t want to be living a neutral life and I personally feel that the media has done the consumer a disservice by encouraging people to live their current lives for future buyers instead of for themselves. I intend to help you move away from these habits and develop new behaviors that allow you to live a fully expressed life!
Why You-Inspired Living Is Important
It all boils down to health, happiness, and how you energetically FEEL in your home! Consider this powerful quote by Aristotle: “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” The number one thing people desperately desire but can’t seem to attain is HAPPINESS, according to a study shared in Forbes Magazine. We are experiencing a serious happiness deficiency, especially in this time of the pandemic!
Now consider this…
Research published on Healthline.com explains how happiness has a direct impact on our health; positively influencing everything from the immune system and stress levels to blood pressure and life expectancy. Six scientifically proven ways to become happier are by expressing gratitude, getting active, getting a good night’s rest, spending time outside, meditating, and eating a healthier diet. I know this is no longer groundbreaking news, but I’m here to offer something that is often overlooked.
Your home can actually make you happier AND healthier!
In designing homes, I have found myself asking clients to share what is most important to them in the areas of finance and desires, ease and comfort, flow and harmony, health and vitality, love and happiness, and fun and enjoyment. These seemed to culminate the meaning of a life well lived. Stay tuned for future posts where I go into great detail of how your home has the power to make you happier and healthier.
We have one life that we know of for certain. How do you want to live it? The key inspiration I want you to walk away with is the knowledge that you CAN create your life to be inspired by YOU! The freedom, health, happiness, joy, and fulfillment that are born through You-Inspired Living are yours for the taking. We all just need a little help and support. We can’t do this life thing alone. I am here to help you realize your heart's truest desires. And if you want more visuals of how I’m able to design people’s inspired lives into their everyday living via their homes, click here. In closing, I would like to leave you with these six steps to get your started.
1) Get still and think about the way you’ve been living your life. Is it inspired by you? If not, continue on to the next steps.
2) Close your eyes and imagine your wildest, craziest dream life. 3) Write down your non-negotiables - the things you will no longer be willing to live without or live with. 4) Next, add a column labeled “Me-Inspired”. Include all the things that bring you authentic inspiration. What impassions you? 5) Close your eyes again and think of who is going to judge you or try to guide you away from these deepest desires. 6) Envision thanking them for loving you and then imagine saying “No, thank you.” as you choose yourself and your dreams.
I intend you find ease in the creation of your You-Inspired Life!
Inspired by YOU,

We are definitely living in our home. As you know, I am not a fad person. I like what I like. My eyes are the ones that will be enjoying the surroundings. We don't believe in paying anyone for their ugly (at least to us).
